AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR TORONTO AFTER DARK 2019! BIG WINNERS INCLUDE THE MORTUARY COLLECTION!
Toronto After Dark Film Festival is thrilled to announce the Award Winners of its 14th Annual Edition. As is tradition at Toronto After Dark, the Jury were the fans themselves with over 5,000 votes cast this year by festival-goers to determine the best new horror, sci-fi and action movies from the around the world!
THE MORTUARY COLLECTION, the creepy new horror anthology directed Ryan Spindell took Top Prize, the Audience Choice Award for BEST FEATURE FILM GOLD plus three other Specialty Awards including BEST HORROR FILM. BEST FEATURE FILM SILVER went to THE ODD FAMILY: ZOMBIE ON SALE, Lee Min-jae's zombie comedy which also took home BEST ENSEMBLE CAST. Time travel comedy JAMES VS HIS FUTURE SELF, directed by Jeremy LaLonde took home BEST FEATURE FILM BRONZE as well as three additional awards including BEST SCI-FI FILM and BEST CANADIAN FILM.
Additional Major Winners included Irish supernatural comedy EXTRA ORDINARY which won five awards including BEST SCREENPLAY, the dark crime thriller COME TO DADDY which won two awards including BEST DIRECTOR, and the space-set sci-fi movie BLOOD MACHINES which won a number of technical awards.

ABOUT TORONTO AFTER DARK
Toronto After Dark Film Festival is one of the world’s leading showcases of New Horror, Sci-Fi and Action cinema. Each October, the critically acclaimed event screens over 50 films, both features and shorts from around the world in front of over 10,000 attendees. The 15th Annual festival runs Oct 15-23, 2020 at the Scotiabank Theatre, the biggest cinema in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada.

How the 2019 TADFF Awards Winners Were Determined:
1. Best Feature Film, Gold, Silver & Bronze also known as "The Audience Choice Awards" - Determined by over 5,000 Audience Member Votes Collected in person at Feature Film Screenings during the festival. The top ranked Canadian film in this poll is also awarded Best Canadian Feature Film.
2. Specialty Category Winners including Short Film Winners Determined by an online poll held over the week after the festival of Toronto After Dark’s most dedicated audience: our 200 All-Access Pass Buyers who attend multiple screenings.
